Chapter 6. Chat server (XMPP/Jabber) Configuration

Before you start this chapter

  1. Connect to your server over SFTP using FileZilla (see Chapter 3, Connecting to your server with FileZilla and SFTP).
  2. Configure at least one mailbox for your domain (see Chapter 5, Configuring email).

XMPP is now available for every user with a mail account for a domain. It is straightforward to add to any domain.

Once this file is in place, all email mailboxes for that domain with a password set will be able to log in to XMPP using their email address as the username.
