Chapter 1. What’s new since the last release

The current release is based on Debian 8.0, code-name Jessie. Since the last release of symbiosis, the following features have been implemented.

Suport for free LetsEncrypt SSL/TLS certificates. All domains now get SSL by default.
Support for push email for ActiveSync devices.
Email and XMPP passwords are now hashed automatically, as well as getting hashed automatically on login.
Exim now has rate limiting on a per-user or per-domain basis.
Spam gets delivered to a Spam folder when "tagging" is selected.
The Strict-Transport-Security(HSTS) header is now served on ssl-only domains
An IP address can be specified for all outbound email for a domain.
DMARC can now be added to the DNS records.
DNS records can have a custom TTL set per domain.
A new "message of the day" that shows resource usage on login.

Additionally, a large number of bugs have been fixed, including:

#11608 The Logjam vulnerabilty patched.
#4546 Orphaned MySQL backups now get removed.
#4646 Backups only take place if there is sufficient storage space to do.
#6471 Symlinked crontabs are no longer ignored.
#6476 Symbiosis deletes configurations it creates for Apache.
#6621 Webalizer cleans up after itself.
#9713 Passive FTP over TLS now works.
#10393 Symbiosis-updater has been replaced with with unattended-upgrades.
#12423 SNI SSL template also generates virtualhost on port 80, causing zz-mass-hosting to be ignored and another site to be loaded as default.
